ICY Intelligent Thermostats can control any type of heating medium and work completely independently of human interaction. Using in-built PIR motion sensors the Intelligent Thermostat will detect when a resident has come back to their room, boosting the temperature to Comfort Mode from the resting Dormant Mode set at just a few degress centigrade lower.
A reduction of just 1"C can reduce your heating bills by up to 10% (Energy Savings Trust).
Residents do not have to adjust any of the settings; once set, the Intelligent thermostat will do all the work. There are only two buttons on the Intelligent Thermostat '+' and '-' to allow the resident to select the desired temperature. The temperature is capped at a maximum setting, prohibiting careless use where thermostats may be heating a room to uncomfortable and even unhealthy temperatures of above 25'C.
